For any horror fan, Pennywise the clown is one of the most memorable monsters in history. I remember watching Stephen King's IT at only a young age and I have been petrified of clowns ever since, Tim Curry has had an incredible acting career with films such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Annie, Home Alone 2, The Wild Thornberrys and so much more. However this time Bill Skarsgård has taken the reigns in the 2017 remake Pennywise. With Stephen King nowhere near production; he has still given his approval to director Andrés Muschietti and producer Dan Lin, confirming that the new clown will live up to the huge bar Tim Curry had previously left.
When people first got wind of the remake happening, a lot of clown sightings were reported around the world. 2016 was a terrifying year as people were filming others dressed in clowns holding weapons and even chasing these poor victims. This still did not affect the recording of the film and fans felt as if this response could maybe simmer the clown psychos to eventually quitting; it would take several months for the clowns to slowly fade out of the social media accounts, but with the teaser being released in the next few months will there be more clown sightings in the near future?
To all horror fans, September 8th is definitely a date to put into your diary, be prepared to feel like that scared kid you were when you first encountered Pennywise. He's back and he wants more than little Georgie's boat.
