Green Day's AMA Performance

Green Day have never been a band to stray away from their political views, their 2004 album American Idiot was the bands way of throwing a huge F*** you at the current President during that time George W. Bush. This year the band released their 12th studio album Revolution Radio just weeks before the fate of America would be decided in the Presidency debate, Green Day made it very clear on their views of who they believed would have a better impact on their country but unfortunately millions of people were disappointed to discover Donald Trump had won the election. Many celebrities shared their thoughts and opinions on the result including model Gigi Hadid at the American Music Awards mocking the first lady Melena Trump for her speech coinciding with Michelle Obama's speech in 2009.

During Green Days performance of one of their new singles 'Bang Bang' they started a chant before the final chorus shouting "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!" Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has admitted before to not being the biggest Trump supporter, and this chant may come as a shock to many viewers but the bands fans will be familiar with the way that Green Day like to get their opinion across. Of course the band are all fun loving but they are also very loyal to their country and their fans, Billie Joe wants the future to actually excel rather then go back 50 years into the past where discrimination lives and breaths and will fester. Many people, famous or regular are hoping that the message Green Day have brought across will not be ignored and they will not have to fight in order to survive through the next few years with President Trump.
